The Manyuchi condoms were first launched in 2004 And after 10 years on the market, BLM has decided to conduct intensive research to understand the needs of the consumer and the dynamics on the market and how best to contribute to the CONDOMIZE campaign being promoted by the Ministry of Health.
"We have concluded there is a niche for Manyuchi and the nation needs Manyuchi to cover a critical demographic group." said Nicky Matthews, BLM country Director.
It is believed that the new Manyuchi is a superior product based on extensive research and testing of the technology.
"Since its inception, Manyuchi has not just been a product on the shelf. It contributes to the nation's effort in HIV reduction by minimizing new infections.
As BLM, we look at it as our contribution to the CONDOMISE campaign that reaches to a very specific high risk group. That is why we intend to continue making it available in Malawi". Said Matthews.
The event will be spiced up by perfomances from renowned artists Gwamba and Skeffa Chimoto.
Banja La Mtsogolo (BLM) opened its first clinic in 1987 and has since grown to include 31 clinics in 22 of Malawi's 28 districts.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Christian Health Association BLM offers free family planning services at more than 600 sites per month across 27 districts to rural and low-income communities.
