The youth cadets is the productive youth arm of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party DPP.
DPP Director of Youth in the North, Kelvin Chirambo said the gesture is part of cerebrating the New Year, 2018.
"The President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika teaches us to be productive, innovative, hard working, patriotic and indeed be people of high integrity, so we are following his teachings," said Chirambo.
He said the cleaning exercise is just to prove a point that they are in right hands, trained well, and are the real future of tomorrow.
"We are the youths, the future of the party and our goal is to also help build a health nation as championed by the First Lady, Madam Professor Gertrude Mutharika through Her Beautify Malawi (BEAM) Trust.
In his remarks, DPP Regional Governor for the North, Kenneth Sanga said he was happy to see youths of the party engaging in such productive activities.
"They are borrowing a leaf from what we teach them; the youths are in majority in the country that aside they are the future of tomorrow so these activities give hope to the upcoming generation," said Sanga.
Member of Parliament for Mzuzu City Constituency, Leonard Njikho hailed the DPP youths for the gesture.
"Sanitation and hygenie are paramount in health, so what the youths have done will go a long way improve health standards in the area as well as its nice scenery," said Njikho.
The activity was held in collaboration with Beatify Malawi (BEAM Trust) whose founder, Professor Gertrude Mutharika looks forward to a health and sanitation conscious individuals.
Apart from health and sanitation issues, the DPP youth cadets are also involved in various youth empowerment activities, cheers the sick, and helps the needy.
