Welcoming the new members in the party at Tukombo in the district was Presidential Advisor on Youth Affairs, Symon Vuwa Kaunda.

“From the many people gathered here, one would think it is a rally but it is not. It is only a committee meeting of the ruling DPP, in Nkhata Bay South Constituency. 45 people comprising of area, constituency and district committee members from MCP and PP have joined DPP”, said Kaunda.

One of the DPP Members in Nkhata Bay South, Happy Chirwa said the people are defecting to DPP, because of its sound development agenda being manifested through various projects that the DPP led administration is carrying out.

”People are flocking to DPP because they are assured that with this leadership development is paramount. They have seen what DPP has done and continues to do and they are sure come 2019, DPP will win”, said Chirwa.

Among others, the new members are given party cloth.

The Presidential Adviser on Youth Affairs also appealed to those outside DPP to join the party as it is implementing an open door policy.
