Commissioner Bishop Mary Nkosi said that she was very happy to see the large crowds attending all the meetings which she organised in all the Traditional Authorities in the district. She believes that a lot of people will take part in voter registration exercise and chiefs will have a lesser task to sensitise their subjects.

"I have been here in Phalombe to brief the people on the pending voter registration exercise that will commence on the 2nd of September to 15th September 2018. The whole idea is that we ask the T/A's and their senior group headmen and all the chiefs that they should go out and sensitise their subjects that their district is in the fifth phase where registration is starting soon,” said Nkosi.

One of the Traditional leaders in the district, T/A Nkhumba said that as a leader, she has a duty to sensitise her subjects in all meetings that she will be conducting in her area and she is sure that when the registration exercise starts a lot of people will take part since they now know what voter registration is all about.

“I have a key role to play in my area to teach them on the importance of voter registration exercise. Whether it’s an agricultural or educational meeting, I will take the messages to those meetings so they don’t forget to register,” she said.

She thereafter encouraged all the people who are eligible to vote, to go and register in their areas when voter registration commences so that they should be able to vote and choose leaders of their choice.
