Malawi, Zimbabwe sign MOU on tourism cooperation

Malawi and Zimbabwe have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in the field of tourism.

The signed MOU, among others aims at creating and setting out a framework for the development and enhancement of the two countries tourism sector.

Minister of Tourism and Culture Kondwani Nankhumwa and his Zimbabwean counterpart Engineer Walter Mzembi signed the agreement on behalf of their respective governments.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“This MOU being signed is a new milestone in the history of tourism between Malawi and Zimbabwe”, said Nankhumwa.

 

The two countries which enjoy strong cultural, historical, political and economic relations will share tourism information.

 

Nankhumwa observed that the agreement will help in opening up the regional market for intra and international tourism.

 

Zimbabwe’s Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Engineer Walter Mzembi said the agreement would help to bring people of the two countries together.
Mzembi also urges Malawians to promote local tourism.
