Hunger hits 30,000 people in Ntcheu

As people of Sub- Traditional Tsikulamowa and Traditional Authority Phambala in Ntcheu wait for Government to provide them with food, over 30,000 people are reported to be eating wild tubers locally known as mpama and nyanya.

There are only two boreholes serving people in eight villages in Manthulu in the area of TA Mtwalo in Mzimba District. Most of the households get water from unprotected sources where cattle and other animals drink from. The area is about six kilometers to the south of Kafukule Trading Centre.
