Politician Salim Bagus has quit opposition, Malawi Congress Party (MCP) as second deputy secretary general and  withdrew his membership from the oldest party on “personal grounds.”

In a brief statement, Bagus also added that he was no longer representing the party in Chikwawa Central as a parliamentary candidate, barely weeks after winning in primary elections.


Before joining MCP, Bagus was in Peoples Party (PP), Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and United Democratic Front (UDF) where he held senior party positions.
