The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development has lifted suspension of the 2018-19 Farm Input Subsidy Programme (FISP).

Last week, Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development Principal Secretary Gray Nyandule-Phiri announced suspension of the programme citing anomalies in the distribution chain and redemption of beneficiary coupons.

And in a statement on Monday, Nyandule-Phiri said the suspension followed inititial reconciliation of allocations by a majority of district councils.

“This validation phase has been deemed successful by the said stakeholders.

“The Ministry would therefore like to take this opportunity to appreciate the remarkable support it got during the reconciliation and urges all stakeholders to continue the collaboration during the first phase of program implementation,” said Nyandule Phiri.
