Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) was established under an act of Parliament in 1964 as a parastatal organisation. Radio 2 FM was officially opened by the then president of Malawi Dr Bakili Muluzi on 17th July 1997 as the second radio channel. Malawi Television (TVM) was launched on 1st April 1999 as the first public television broadcaster in Malawi.

On 1st July 2010 Government merged MBC and TVM to operate as one institution under the name Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC). The new MBC is mandated to provide both radio and television services.

MBC is the market leader with 72% of the radio market share and 98% of the television market. MBC is therefore the perfect medium to communicate your social or commercial messages. We take pride in partnership with you by connecting you to your market at all times.
