The song “Ku Mangochi” has been released during the festive season as Christians in Malawi and the world all over are celebrating Christmas and the New Year.
Ku Mangochi is a song that is telling a story of a man who is stuck in Mangochi, after meeting a beautiful lady in the lakeshore district.
“It is a piece that is centered on praising beautiful women in the Africa continent and December being a season of celebrations mainly through dancing, I thought of making it a danceable tune although it does not necessarily talk about Christmas,” said Afiloli.
The song features another veteran Mzuzu artist Tiwonge Hango who Afiloli describes as the perfect match for the track theme.
“I had other names in my mind to join hands with but I chose Tiwonge Hango simply because he has a good voice for my song and the fact that he stays within Mzuzu has helped us to coordinate well,” said the Ku Mangochi hit-maker.
Afiloli, whose full name is Mark Afiloli Mnjeza, told MBC that the Mwala-Mwala album will be ready by June 2018.
The single has been produced by Zephy Oldies of Green Jams at Lubinga, in Mzuzu City.
When asked about words to his fans, Afiloli simply said: “Expect a lot of good things because you deserve good things.’’
