Mutharika appointed champion of TRIPS

President Professor Peter Mutharika has been appointed to two very important international positions.


In press release, the State House Press Office says Professor Mutharika has been appointed champion of Trade Related aspects of Intellectual Property Rights-TRIPS by the UNAIDS to ensure local drug manufacturing security in least developed countries.


President Mutharika has also been appointed to the high level commission on financing global education opportunities chaired by the former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Other members of the commission are the Prime Minister of Norway, the President of Chile, the President of Indonesia and the Director General of UESCO.
