The MP gave the advice on Sunday at St. Bridget Community Day Secondary School when he presented awards to teams which have performed well in his K1.5 million football and netball league.
He observed that most of the times, the youth engage into immoral activities because they don’t have anything productive to do in their day to day life.
“I organized this league to make the youth in my area busy so that they don’t resort to things which may ruin their lives,” he said.
The Hon Luka noted that the youth engage in wayward behaviours such as smoking, theft and sexual activities because most of them spend too much time unproductively in their localities.
He urged the youth to work hard in their studies, saying their future aspirations cannot be achieved if they don’t work hard in life.
“You need to understand that you are the hope of this area and that you cannot be productive if you don’t focus on education,” Luka advised.
During the finals, Nogwe FC emerged as champions after beating Parish FC 4-2 while Nyalugwe FC came on third position in post-match penalties after beating Fisheries FC.
For emerging victors, Nogwe walked away with K250, 000.
