According to a statement signed by Chief Elections Officer, Sam Alfandika, which this publication has seen, the development follows the demise of one of the parliamentary candidates in the run up to the 21st May tripartite elections.

The Commission says it shall hold stakeholders meeting  in the constituency.

The objective of the meeting is to sensitize the electorates about the electoral calendar and electoral processes.

Currently MEC is involved in an electoral case being held at the Constitutional Court sitting in Lilongwe where opposition parties are seeking nullification of the presidential results.
