Malawian President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika on Monday sent a condolence message to his Kenyan counterpart, Uhuru Kenyatta, following devastating landslides that have claimed at least 36 lives in West Pokot county.



The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Saturday okayed $40 million (about K29 billion) in direct budget support to Malawi, after the international lender and donors suspended aid in 2013 due to Cashgate corruption scandal during which over $150 million was siphoned from state coffers by mostly civil servants, politicians and business people.


In a bid to encourage and honour the noble task park rangers carry out, Paradise International Foundation and the Alibaba Foundation have honoured 50 park rangers (Seven of whom are African Park’s rangers) at a ceremony in Accra Ghana.


Malawi and African Parks, a non-profit conservation organisation, are turning Liwonde National Park into a prime tourist attraction site, what with the arrival of 17 rhinos that were released into the park recently.
