According to NAM General Secretary Carol Bapu, the polls will be held at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi on 3rd June 2017.
A recent advert placed in the newspapers asked for people to apply for the available positions but Bapu said this was an error; however, the advert was supposed to call for nominations from interested people to fill the elected posts.
“We are looking for people who have knowledge and experience in sports administration and possess a Malawi School Leaving Certificate of Education and Sports Administration as the minimum requirements. As of now, we can say that everything is in place as we await the day of the elections,” said Bapu.
She added that all the posts were open and available; aspirants can choose which position they want to contest for.
President for Football Association of Malawi Rose Chinunda insists that she will not seek re-election despite pressure from affiliates to do so while General Secretary Carol Bapu is yet to decide on whether to seek re-election or not.
Aspirants will contest on the positions of President, Vice President, General Secretary, Vice General Secretary, Treasurer and Vice Treasurer.
