APM takes lead in election count

President Peter Mutharika has taken a five-percentage-point lead over his main rival in this week's elections, according to figures Thursday based on results from three-quarters
of polling stations.

UDF's president who is also one of the presidential candidates in the tripartite polls has voted at Nainunje Primary School in Machinga North East consitituency.

The Malawi Congress Party torch bearer in this year’s tripartite elections, Lazarus Chakwera Tuesday took his turn to exercise his voting rights in his home area at Malembo polling station in Traditional Authority (T/A) Khongoni in Lilongwe.


Malawi’s Vice President who is also UTM torchbearer in the Tripartite Elections currently underway, Dr Saulos Chilima has cast his vote with an appeal to all Malawians to continue preaching peace as they go to vote in their large numbers.
