Minister Kutsaira shocks late civil servants

Written by  MBC Online

Malawi’s Natural Resources, Energy and Environment Minister Binton Kutsaira on Monday shocked civil servants who reported for duties late at his ministry, Capital Hill, when he locked them out, just to show them it won’t be business as usual.

Civil servants start work at 7.30 am, but a disappointed Kutsaira took that bold to lock them out until he gave them a stern warning not to repeat and allowed them entry.

He told them he does not condone late coming because it negatively affects government business, adding that he won't tolerate future late coming.

Recently President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika warned his cabinet that he will not hesitate to fire non-performing ministers.

Kutsaira is also a legislator having won his Lilongwe parliamentary seat on the DPP ticket.
