The ruling is expected to be delivered between January 27 and February 3 2020 by a panel of five judges, headed by Justice Healey Potani.
“As Malawians let us follow the rule of law,” Chakwera told a presser in Lilongwe.
He said Malawians should accept the ruling with "two hands because it will be a pillar of a new Malawi and for reconciliation".
Chakwera, alongside UTM leader Saulos Chilima petitioned the constitutional court to have the May 21 presidential election nullified, claiming that MEC rigged the election in favour of President Arthur Peter Mutharika.
Chakwera said he wouldn’t go anywhere else because he regards Malawi as his only home.
Journalists, were however barred from asking questions at the function, which was attended by former president Joyce Banda and her husband.
