In a statement issued by the Management of the public broadcaster, it sais: “Towards the end of the programme, the guest in question diverted from the topic under discussion and expressed his personal opinion over alleged rape issues.
“Noticing, the bad taste of the guest’s opinion, the announcer on duty did what he could do in a live programme by cutting him to stop him from continuing with his expression.”
MBC commended the announcer for being alert during such a live programme, adding that the guest in question has since been ‘banned from participating in all future MBC programmes.”
“The Corporation promises to be more alert in future when other invited guests are brought in for similar live programmes.
“MBC deeply regrets for this incident,” the statement concluded.
