FEDOMA Head of Programs Symon Munde praised the public broadcaster on Wednesday when he toured the newly constructed ramps at the Chichiri Broadcasting House and Kwacha in Blantyre.

According to Munde, MBC involved FEDOMA in the initial planning of the structures, which he said was an honour.

“There are several things that MBC has done. Some time back, they called us to train the members of staff in the area of disability mainstreaming, which is quite a move in the right direction. Even the Innovations award has a disability component. We feel, this is a way to go. MBC is also leader in as far as employing persons with disabilities is concerned,” said Munde.

Munde has since appealed to other organizations to emulate MBC’s example.

The Federation of Disability Organisations in Malawi (FEDOMA) was founded in 1999, as an umbrella organisation of Disabled People’s Organisations (DPOs) in Malawi to provide a unified voice for all the disabled people.
