The Malawi leader did his Standards 5 and 6 at the school and he told the gathering: “I owe much of what I am today to this school”.
“Teachers of my time here were great disciplinarians and very dedicated to duty. They instilled in me values that have remained vital to my entire academic journey,” said Mutharika, a Law Professor with an international reputation.
The Mutharika administration is also constructing a Thyolo-Makwasa-Nsanje Road, the project he also said was connected to his childhood days.
“I am very glad to note that this road project is taking shape. I used to walk on foot on this road-that time it was just a tiny path-connecting this school to the Boma and my home village in Chisoka,” he said.
