According to Deputy Public Relations Officer at Nkhotakota Police Station Paul Malimwe, the deceased's wife Maureen Ellard on July 24, 2017 at night the family quarreled and later the deceased left home to unknown destination.

“Hours passed without him reporting back which prompted the wife to report the matter to the headmaster of the development. Efforts to trace his whereabouts started same night only to find him lifeless behind Chongole Primary School hanging about 200 metres away from home,” said Malimwe.

He further said the deceased used a string to take his life. Medical personnel from Nkhotakota district hospital confirmed that the death was due to strangulation,” he added.

However police are still investigating further on the matter. Meanwhile police are advising the general public to use normal channels in solving family issues.

The deceased Oliver Jinazale hailed from Makuta Village in the Area of Senior Chief Malengachanzi in Nkhotakota district.
