One of the beneficiaries, Vannessa George said that much as the donated items were not replacing everything they had lost, they were very grateful to DreamShare for remembering their plight.
“For many of us, these clothes and beddings have given us something to start from and even relieved our parents in a very big way,” said the form three student who is also under an education scholarship offered by the orgnisation.
In his remarks, Deputy Head Teacher for Namikasi, Geoffrey Nali hailed DSF for being there for the children since the tragic event.
“When the incident happened, you gave immediate relief to children who were stranded. And today you came back to reach out to more. This school is highly indebted to you,” said the Head Teacher who went on to acknowledge that such a cause is truly inspiring.
For his part, DSF Executive Director, Charles Kabena thanked all people who donated to DSF and called on them to do more for the country’s children in need. He said the goal of DSF is to help provide school fees for underprivileged children so they stay in school and achieve their God-given potential.

“We are here because some people believed in these children’s story and gave us all these items that we have given. But as you can see, there are several other children in need and I hope every person in this country can do something for them,” he challenged.
Apart from the donations, DSF conducted a motivation talk for all students at the school. They paraded good number of career young people who shared their stories with the learners in a bid to push them to do more.
DSF is running an education scholarship that is currently benefiting 175 learners from Nanjiriri, Njuli, Mdeka and Namikasi Secondary Schools.
