Spokesperson for the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Manfred Ndovi said the ministry is doing all it can to end the malpractice

The concern comes at a time when reports indicate that the funds in some schools have been misappropriated by Head teachers in conjunction with school committees.

“We are intending to make some follow ups with our audit team to make sure that those who will be found mismanaging the School Improvement grant will be heard accountable in accordance with the law of the land,” said Ndovi.

Ndovi said the funds are intended to improve the quality of education in schools like buying the day to day learning materials in schools.

Government through the Ministry provides funds to all primary schools in order for the schools to initiate activities such as procurement of books and other school amenities.
