Thonyiwa was nabbed in connection to 144 boxes of Azithromycin which were found with Jimmy Potani who alleged to have obtained from her, according to spokesperson for Lilongwe Police Station Kingsley Dandaula.

Meanwhile, the number of people arrested over drug theft in Lilongwe has reached four.

Thonyiwa, Potani and other two suspects will appear in court soon to answer theft by public servant charges.

The arrest of these health personnel come barely few days after President Peter Mutharika strongly warned against drug theft in public health facilities.
