Deputy Police Public Relations Officer in Kasungu, Harry Namwanza said Phiri was arrested following a tip from the public.

“Police got a tip from well wishers that, the suspect who is a cleaner at Chamwavi Health Centre situated in Traditional Authority Chilowamatambe in Kasungu was keeping a lot of assorted medical drugs in her house which were suspected to have been unlawfully obtained from her working place. Following the tip, police invaded the suspect's house where they confiscated assorted medical drugs such as LA, Diclofenac, Contrimazole, Amoxycline, Paracetamol, Doxycycline, Quinine, Bufen, plus other assorted drugs,” he explained.

The suspect will appear before court soon when police investigations are completed to answer the offence of found in possession of Medical Drugs without Licence.  The suspect hails from Kansonga village, Traditional Authority Malenga in Ntchisi district.
