According to Chief Secretary to government, Lloyd Muhara, the appointment is with effect from 14th March 2017.

Besides, the Government has appointed Chairpersons and members of the Boards of Directors for Malawi Broadcasting Corporation-MBC and Electricity Generation Company Limited-EGENCO. The appointments are as follows.

Malawi Broadcasting Corporation – MBC

Members: Ms. Egolet Emily Banda: Reverend Patrick Makondetsa, : Paramount Chief Lundu: Senior Traditional Authority Chadza,: Dr. George Phiri : Ms Martha Pakaine: Secretary for Information, and Communications Technology–Ex-Officio: Secretary to the Treasury (By invitation)-Ex-Officio: Comptroller of Statutory Corporations (By invitation)-Ex-Officio.

Electricity Generation Company Limited-EGENCO

Chairperson: Chief Secretary to the Government

Members: Mr. Arthur Sabrel Mandambwe: Ms Mary Nkando: Mrs. Gloria Chawinga: Reverend Noel Gama: Secretary to the Treasury: Secretary for Natural Resources, Energy & Mining: Solicitor General and Secretary for Justice.

The Office of the President and Cabinet says the appointments are with immediate effect.
