The destination was Sunbird Nkopola lodge in Mangochi, 25th to 27th September were the dates stamped in people's minds. With sensational artist the likes of South Africa's Uhuru, Toya Delazy and Malawi's own Lawi and Lucius Banda, LOS fanatics were guaranteed continued fun at this year’s Lake of Stars festival.
Friday kicked off with performances from SA's female artist Toya Delazy, who got the crowd hyped with her hit song 'love is in the air', local artist Gwamba, Dan lu, and Lawi also set the stage on fire. The peak of the night and most anticipated was at midnight with a performance by SA's famous group Uhuru.


Saturday afternoon Malawian poet Yankho Seunda captured the crowd’s attention with his three spoken word pieces followed by DRC's Menes who also entertained the poetry lovers.
Saturday night Nigerian artist Ric Hassani made the crowd dance-dance to his hit song 'Dance dance baby dance' followed by Mokoomba from Zimbabwe. The godfather of Malawi local music Lucius Banda set the stage on fire with his famous songs and a special dance guest Wendy Harawa amazed the crowd with her dance moves.
Celebrated vocalist Lulu rocked the mic and guitar and Young Fathers from Scotland also hit the stage with their artistic unique sounds.
Last day of the festival saw performances from Sam Mkandawire, Fumbi Jazz band, Sonye and Zeus from Botswana.
This year's festival partners were Malawi Airlines, Airtel, DSTV, MBC, The Times Group, Continental Outdoor Media, A4A and Royal Norwegian Embassy.
