Religious leaders urged to seek dialogue before demos

Written by  MBC Reporter

Civil Society Organizations have condemned Tuesday’s demonstrations by some religious groups.

Executive Director for Malawi Watch, Billy Banda said the groups could have sought dialogue and prayer first before taking to the street.

Banda said much as everyone is accorded the right to demonstrate, the supreme role of spiritual groups is to put prayer first in all issues of National interest and not opting for demonstrations.

“Religious leaders should fully understand that the cause for demonstrations should be the last resort,” said Banda adding that nothing is difficult with God.

“The religious leaders missed compliance of procedure required,” he added.

He however called on people in the country not to be used as agents of destruction.
