Member of Parliament for Blantyre North Francis Phiso said this when he officially handed over a school block at Ndalapa Primary School to the people of the constituency.

Phiso said there are a lot of politicians out there who would like to distract the DPP led government by trying to engage it in verbal wars.

Of late the political landscape has been engulfed with insults mainly targeted at the ruling Democratic Progressive Party-DPP and Phiso said the party’s aim is to speak through developmental initiatives that are being spread across the country in sectors of health, education, transport, and economy and will never be destructed by the opposition.

“We cannot be answering back because their aim is simply to distract the DPP led government which is delivering. This is evident by the completion of the project as part of my vision that no child within all 35 schools in his area should be learning under a tree.

“My dream is to see no child under my constituency learning under unfavorable conditions. This is so because we release that education is a very important first step for human development,” added Phiso.

Commenting on the development, acting Primary Education Advisor for Namvuu educational Zone Agness Nyirenda said the school block will increase the enrolment rate at Ndalapa primary school.

Nyirenda said pupils will no longer have to travel long distances to access standard 8 lessons in neighboring schools.

“We are happy with the coming in of the school block. Previously, children used to take long distances to finish their primary school,” said Nyirenda.

The Parliamentarian is also constructing bridges, roads, clinics and many other social projects in Blantyre North constituency from the Constituency Development Fund - CDF and also with his personal resources.
