The annual event, which kicks off from Friday the 7th through Sunday the 9th of December, 2018 at Golf Club will among other things offer an opportunity to beer lovers, friends and families to enjoy its products.
Commercial and Marketing Director Chantal Akoumany said, “The turn out last year was very good, so it was only right to come back to Lilongwe. We have combined it with family activities because we have brands for the family such as SOBO squash and as such, we would like to offer our squash loving customers an opportunity to experience the brand with games, a talent show and a Sobo fashion contest.”
Akoumany added, “The headliner for the beerfest is beer and customers should expect reduced beer prices from 7-hundred kwacha to 6-hundred both green and Stout to spice up the event. Apart from reduced beer prices, the Carlsberg brand promises three day fun, an urban music night, Jazz session, fashion and local music night.”
She explained that tickets for the festival both for individuals and families will be sold out at MK 2, 000 for adults and MK 1,000 for children.
“In 2017, the Beerfest attracted over 5000 customers and we anticipate more customers this year. We have set aside Sunday for trhe children and we have designated areas for their activities with Sobo brands, far from the beer activity areas,” she said.
On the issue to do with safety, Akoumany said safety of its customers is a priority and therefore they have intensive security, paramedics and a fire brigade at the event.
According to the Akoumany, the festival will commerce at 10:00 am each day and beer will only be sold to those above 18 and have an area designated for the children away from actual beer activity.
