“Blantyre City Council announced that this year’s winner will also be crowned ambassador for the Keep Blantyre City Campaign. This will see the queen lobby for sanitation and health measures that can make Blantyre the best place to be in Malawi and this is in line with our theme ‘Beyond beauty’ which aims to produce role models in the society rather than just models,” said Ngwira.
Meanwhile the organizers have called government institutions and private sector willing to participate to come forward and make Miss Blantyre Office successful.
The last Miss Blantyre was conducted in December 2013 whose main sponsor was United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA).
