Released on 18 August, Ayi is a prologue to the emcee’s up-coming album pertinently titled The Music Man which is set for a November pilot.
The song was recorded and produced by Direct Muzik Group (DMG) and contains ear-catching lyrics with an equally infectious but controversial hook all attached to a groovy beat.
“Ayi talks about justice in the music industry as it has always been compromised by the circulation of low quality and poorly arranged music,” said the DMG CEO.
“This has made it hard for Malawi to gain recognition abroad through music that can stand out on the international scene to allow talented local artists gain global recognition in the music industry.”

Genii Blakk revealed he plans to release other singles from the album while other promotional activities for The Music Man have already been lined up in preparation for the tour.
Other artists featured on this 14-track project include Tigris, Nepman, Bucci, Desert Eagle and Direct Muzik Group including surprise international guest appearances.
“Following up on the single release are music videos and other prepared events to be conducted in line with the album Launch,” he said.
“A tour for the album is in progress along with Direct Muzik Group artists Jhon O’ Dreams, Spotless, Comrade and El Mind set to hold down shows across the country and other surrounding nations.”

The album is being released courtesy of Direct Muzik Group and will be launched on both the local and international scene.
According to the artist, some of the singles on The Music Man will be available online including the full album on iTunes and Spotify at an affordable price.
CD copies of the album will also be made available in well-known stores and other distributaries.
Ayi is available online on Reverbnation and Soundcloud.
