Real name Andrew Paul Kaiya, secular rapper Renegade has resurfaced on the music radar by releasing his latest offing fittingly titled Akita Samafa.
“This is my movie, am the cast and crew / akuti ndinatha, but I graduated from what they tryna do,” the penultimate bars on the song’s first verse make a statement of intent.
Produced by KeiM (of Classmates) at Labrats Music, the fresh audio sees Renegade make his presence felt by placing a reminder on the rap scene.

“The concept is basically how people say I fell off but it’s just a reminder of how I'm still up and running and now better than I was before,” he said in an interview with MBC Online earlier this month.
“So Akita Samafa is a reminder to people that I'm still here, this is my movie and I'm here to stay.”
Asked how different Akita Samafa is to his last audio release, the rhymester said: ”My last radio record was Go Tell ‘Em featuring Gwamba and Haso.
“It’s different because Akita Samafa is more new school while Go Tell ‘Em was rugged and raw. This one maintains raw and rugged with the flows but the beat is present day hip hop.”

The new single is the versifier’s maiden release off his new album Renegade 2.0 which centres primarily on his comeback.
“The project focuses on me making my comeback, that’s it,” he explained.
“Except for one track, Wet featuring Yesaya, the rest simply focuses on me reminding people who Renegade is, and that is rapper extraordinaire.”
Renegade rose to fame with the 2009 hit record Sendera featuring Young Luv, a cameo appearance on Lawi’s Chineke God and the 2010 monster tune Renegade Effect.
