The call has been made by Paramount Chief Kyungu of Karonga who said the Malawian returnees need love to quickly heal from their trauma.

"We as citizens of Malawi, we need to welcome our brothers with love so that they can death the psychological, economical, social and physical problems they have gone through."` said Kyungu.

On Monday, 390 Malawians arrived in the country from South Africa and according to Nankhumwa the number of Malawians which are stranded is still swelling has reached to 3200 and that government will require over K150 million to repatriate all of them to Malawi.

However Kyungu also added his voice towards those that are calling for an emergency meeting for Southern African development community (SADC) and African Union head of states saying there can never be a better reason for an emergency meeting than the xenophobia attacks where people are being gruesomely murdered by fellow Africans.

"This problem is not only for Malawi but the entire African continent hence the need for African leaders to table it immediately before the violence spreads to different parts of the continent."added Kyungu.

He said the two regional bodies are to blame for not tabling the issues in the just ending summits which.

So far two Malawians have been confirmed dead by government spokesperson who is also the minister of information Kondwani Nankhumwa although some returnees say almost seven Malawians have died.
