Speaking at the launch United States Ambassador to Malawi Virginia Palmer said the projects would help in the wellbeing of people and restore the environment in communities of Malawi.
Palmer said United State government has a solid vision of communities working together in alleviating the challenges faced using locally found solutions.
The five new activities are designed to work together to strengthen resilience to climate change, increase production and improve nutrition in targeted communities.
Protecting ecosystems and restoring forests in Malawi and Fisheries integration of society and habitats will focus on climate change and biodiversity conservation within and around targeted forest reserves and freshwater ecosystems.
Another programme is improved seed systems and technologies project that will increase agricultural productivity.

Lastly United in building and advancing life expectations and Njira-pathways to sustainable food security will advance community resiliency.
In her remarks Ambassador Palmer said the integrating development programs will enhance community resiliency while addressing the health and food security needs of vulnerable communities throughout southern Malawi.
And in his remarks the minister of agriculture and water develop men projects. Chiyembekeza said the programs are coming at an opportune time when the ministry is focusing on sustainable crop production and food security in the face of persistent droughts and devastating floods this year.
He said what the American government has done demonstrate s true friendship of the two countries.
chiyembekeza said Malawi government officials at various levels actively participated and provided critical guidance in the development of these projects.
'By placing technical staff at district and community level the projects are well aligned to the ministry's current agricultural extension policy' said Chiyembekeza.
