At exactly 14:45hours, a brown wooden casket carrying the remains  of Lhomwe Paramount Chief Ngolongoliwa begun its descent into the earth of Mtundawosema, in Thyolo on Wednesday, marking a permanent end to a journey that started 68 years ago.

Traditional Authority Bvumbwe of the Maseko Ngoni says the late Lhomwe Paramount Chief Ngolongoliwa made sure that Ngoni and Lhomwe people continued to live in peace and harmony.

President Arthur Peter Mutharika has directed that the funeral of Lhomwe Paramount Chief Ngolongoliwa be with military honours.

Performers, patrons and sponsors of the weekend’s free gospel festival-which brought together the county’s crème-de-crème of gospel artists- say the activity as successful.
