Ken Chilewe and James Chuma’s team sponsored by J and J Construction also scored 47 points to come second but were counted out by Chiwaya and Merrick.
Bright Dzoole and Klema Hau were third with 46 points while Rodney Chatama and Peter Tsama scored 45 points for the fourth and last podium position.
Guest of Honour Vice President Saulos Chilima and Roza Mbilizi scored 20 points on front nine.
Roza alone scored 23 points on back nine making a total of 43.
Vice President, who only played the front nine because he had another official engagement in Lilongwe, managed a two club feat.
The competition attracted a field of 52 golfers with 10 being lady golfers.
Convener of the tournament James Chuma applauded the Vice President for gracing the event.
“We are hononured here that the Right Honourable Saulos Chilima’s presence has helped us to earn more money,” Chuma said.
Chuma said they expected to raise money between K5 million and K7 million for the activities of the Mulakho Wa Alomwe.
He said 30 companies and individuals supported the tournament by sponsoring players for K100,000 for a team of two people.
Chiwaya said they decided to participate in the fundraising golf to support the group in their projects.
“We decided to participate in support of the Mulakho Wa Alhomwe Grouping for their upcoming activities and projects,” Chiwaya said.
He said the team was inspired by the presence of the Vice President to win the competition.
Among others the money raised would towards the organisation of the annual Mulakho Wa Alhomwe festival set for 25 October.
