Presenting the donation, the Country Director for Sight Savers Roy Hauya said the drugs will go a long way in treating people with the disease in the country.
He said the World Health Organization has set 2020 as a target for Malawi to eliminate the disease; hence there is need for concerted efforts from different stakeholders to achieve the goal.
The Secretary for Health Macphail Magwira said the drugs will be administered through mass drug administration to 12 districts with much focus to Nsanje, Chikwawa and Mchinji district where there are more cases of trachoma.
