This was said in Lilongwe during a high level press briefing by government ministers in response to a press statement by some civil society organizations.
Speaking at the briefing, the Minister of Foreign Affairs George Chaponda said the DPP government is a listening government that believes in dialogue as a best solution to misunderstandings that might be happening in a country instead of channeling the issues through the Media.
Minister of finance Goodal Gondwe said economically there is hope for the future since government is working out modalities to cut on expenditure as demanded by the IMF.
He said currently government is working out on tax reforms with the view to get more resources.
Speaking on behalf of all non-governmental organizations, the Vice chairperson for council for non-governmental organization-Congoma Maxwel Matewere said as NGO's they are happy with the initiative taken by government to dialogue on issues of national interest.
