Located at the Ministry of Justice Office Complex, the sales office will make it more convenient for public officers travelling outside the country on government sponsored assignments to buy air tickets right at their door step.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony of the sales office, Chief Executive Officer of Malawian Airlines, Kassim Geresu said government officials form a larger percentage of its customers hence the establishment of the office to cement business relations between them.

“We will ensure that this office meets travel needs and that our services are professional and of high quality,” said Geresu.
Guest of honour at the Commissioning ceremony, Alfred Mtilatila who is the Director of Civil Aviation appealed to all Malawians to support the company by flying using Malawian Airlines.
“A decision was made by cabinet that all public officers travelling on government sponsored trips should fly using Malawian airlines. This is to ensure that we support our own Malawian company to make business,” said Mtilatila.

He further urged all controlling officers to adhere to the rule.
Malawi government holds 51% of the shares while Ethiopian Airways has 49 percent shares.
Currently, Malawian Airlines flies to Johannesburg, Harare, Lusaka, Nampula within the region and also flies between Blantyre and Lilongwe, twice a day.
