– Both teams have made changes to starting line ups. Mauritius have dropped four players from the squad that lost 2-0 to Zimbabwe in Group A opener. Goalkeeper Kelvin Jean-Louis is out with James Caserne steps in between sticks.
– Namibia also have brought in the starting line up Hoaseb, Keimuine, Shalulile, Shilongo for dropped Shithembi, Dotto, Musambani and Somaeb
1′ – And we are under way in the first half!
2′ – The Mauritius goalkeeper has already made a save. It could be a busy night …
4′ – GOAL! Shilongo sweeps ball into net from left cross. Namibia toiled for 90 minutes without a goal against Seychelles and now have one inside four minutes!
7′ – Namibia have packed midfield in what appears like a 3-5-2 system whereas Mauritius have deployed 4-4-2. While attacking and defending in numbers, they are being exposed on the counter-attack.
8′ – Namibia keeper Vries is back on his feet after receiving treatment following a foul.
10′ – Namibia striker Keimuine tumbles in Mauritius box but the referee waves play on.
12′ – Yellow card for Dorza leads to a free-kick.
13′ – Mwedihanga heads over from a Namibia free-kick from the left. He should have hit the target at least.
16′ – It’s getting very cold inside the stadium. The fans have gone quiet. Still no Mauritius shot on target to bring some balance to the game.
20′ – Mauritius free-kick taken by captain Veeranah, but a long ball floated in Namibia box goes wide.
29′ – Mauritius coach Didier Six has been standing on the technical area and he seems unhappy with officials. He has since sent Mauritius substitute players to warm up on the southern side. Too many stops and starts in the game due to fouls from either side.
33′ – Namibia get a free-kick as busy striker Keimuine is fouled. Did Dig of Mauritius whips the ball away to safety. Action swings to another end as Petricots shoots wide.
38′ – Shitembi should have done better when meeting a ball from the left, but his first touch was too heavy and he lost the ball which rolled out. Namibia wastes another open chance as Keimuine’s attempt gets blocked by on rushing Mauritius keeper Caserne.
44′ – Veeranah’s free-kick comes to nothing as the ball is pumped aimlessly forward. Three minutes added to the first half.
45′ – Yellow card for Calambe of Mauritius.
HALFTIME: Namibia deservedly lead but should have had more goals, while Mauritius have offered little going forward. They need a vast improvement in the second period.
– Mauritius sub: Dorza comes off to be replaced by Emmanuel Vincent Jean.
46′ – The second half is under way!
50′ – Shitembi sends his shot over the bar.
52′ – Namibia free kick cleared for second corner taken by Shitembi, but the Brave Warriors can’t score. Namibia come again into the Mauritius box and there is an effort ruled offside.
58′ – Namibia corner again. This time from left after Mauritius defence blocks a goal-bound shot from Keimuine. A long one is taken and flies wide. For how long will Namibia keep fluffing such scoring openings?
62′ – Mauritius sub: Jean Justin comes in for Calambe.
66′ – RED CARD! Ravina of Mauritius is red carded as he concedes a penalty!
66′ – GOAL! After Katjiukua shot is blocked for a Namibia penalty, Shilongo steps forward to convert his second of the day!
73′ – More Mauritius trouble as coach Didier Six is sent to the stands for using foul language towards the match officials.
75′ – Namibia sub: Two-goal hero Shilongo is substituted for Joslin Kamatuka.
81′ – Ketjijere beats the Mauritius keeper with a low ball which is deflected into net, but the goal is ruled out for offside.
86′ – Mauritius keeper Caserne punches out Keimuine’s dangerous ball which was bound for the top left corner.
90′ – Namibia sub: Neville Tjieuza comes in for Shitembi.
90+1′ – Namibia sub: Deon Hotto comes in for Shalulile.
FULLTIME – Game over. Convincing, but wasteful Namibia beat 10-man Mauritius only 2-0 and now face a showdown for top spot with Zimbabwe on Thursday.
