Vice President Saulos Chilima has been appointed to serve on an international body aimed at supporting countries to eliminate hunger and malnutrition.
A statement from the Vice President’s office says Right Honourable Chilima will serve as a member on the Leadership Council of Compact 2025 under the International Food Policy Research Institute based in Washington DC, USA.
It says the appointment is a positive development for the country as it strives to reduce hunger and eliminate malnutrition.
Some of the members of the council include Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn of Ethiopia; Kanayo
Nwanze, President of IFAD; Ertharin Cousin, Executive Director of WFP; Neven Mimica, European Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development.
