Police Public Relations Officer in Salima, Gift Chitowe said the watchman was found dead outside the premises on Monday, 28th May 2017.

“We are looking for unknown people who are believed to have murdered a 47 year old, watchman of FC Bar at Kamuzu Road Trading Centre in Salima. On May 28, Mr. Lackson Mabasa of Sole Village T/A Mwanza, in Salima district reported for duties as usual but was at 00:10 hours found dead outside FC bar fence near the main gate, but with a swollen head,” explained Chitowe.

Chitowe said the body was taken to Salima District Hospital where postmortem results revealed death due to head injuries after being hit with a hard object.

“Police are urging members of the general public who can come with information that can lead to the arrest of those unknown suspects, in order for justice to take its course,” he appealed.
