The Ministry of Information, Tourism and Culture says it is in the process of formulating the Malawi Tourism Authority.
The Minister responsible, Kondwani Nankhumwa said the body will ensure that money which holiday makers paid to tourism operators that sell Malawi abroad is brought to the country.
Nankhumwa was responding to a concern raised by MP for Lilongwe Central David Biznowatty as to what government was doing to ensure that the proceeds paid abroad by prospective tourists were brought to Malawi to ensure the country was benefitting from tourism.
