Speaking ahead of the Fair, Chief Operating Officer at Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Chimwemwe Luhanga described this year’s trade fair as an opportunity for the SME’s contribute significantly to the growth of the economy.
Themed: "Promoting SMEs for Inclusive and Robust Economy", Luhanga said one of the objectives of the fair said linkages between the small and bigger businesses will take advantages to scale-up their business and tap expertise.
He added that MCCCI is in constant touch with different SME’s at different points to notice the progress that they are making and provide support in the progression of their businesses.
“This year, we are targeting the SME’s as an entity which can help attain the robust economy. They employ a number of people and this is a commendable investment towards the growth of economy, “said Luhanga.
He added that the Mzuzu Trade Fair, which will take place at the Mzuzu Taifa Market, will bring to focus the role which the Small and Medium Enterprise are playing in the economy.
