The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development, Allan Chiyembekeza disclosed this after visiting the Limbe Auction Floors in Blantyre.

Chiyembekeza said the country had so far realized just above $256 million in tobacco sales this year.

Meanwhile more flue cured tobacco remains unsold at the floors prompting government to extend the market beyond Tuesday, the day the floors were expected to close.
