The ruling Democratic Progressive Party- DPP says it is working tirelessly to ensure that it achieves a landslide victory in this year’s tripartite elections.

Spokesperson for the party, Nicholas Dausi who is also Minister of Homeland Security said many people will vote for the DPP due to the various developments that government has implemented since being ushered into power through a landslide victory in 2014.

He also said government has been initiating different projects in all sectors including health, education and agriculture which have made lasting impacts and changed lives of many citizens in the country.

“The State President who is also the Party President has achieved so much and visible to all people who appreciate transformation. We can cite examples of infrastructural developments which include rehabilitation and building of new roads, community technical colleges as some of those achievements. The stability of the Kwacha in the country is also another milestone for this government,” said Dausi.

DPP’s Spokesperson said the economic stability of Malawi has helped win donor confidence as the American government through the Millenium Challenge Account has rated Malawi as having over performed in its projects.

At the same time, Dausi added that the Germany government has hailed His Excellency the President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika leadership because of bringing development, physical co-existence and good governance.

Dausi called on DPP supporters to be united and follow the rule of democracy as the country moves closer to the May 2019 tripartite elections and urged the electorate to vote for developmental oriented leaders like those that are in the ruling DPP.

“We are geared for a landslide victory and we are doing a lot on the ground to achieve this. We are in the trenches fighting to make sure that all loopholes identified by our distracters are resolved. We are serving the people and making sure that the common good is achieved. We already know that the DPP has won confidence of many people in the country,” said Dausi.

Malawians will go to the polls in May 2019 where they will elect a President, Members of Parliament and Ward Councilors for a 5 year term.
