A 37 year old man has committed suicide in Dedza after allegedly impregnating his biological daughter.
The Malawi Bureau of Standards-MBS- has warned that it will deal with unscrupulous traders who are illegally packaging and selling liquor sachets.
MBS Executive Director, Devlin Chokazinga issued the warning following the consistent sale of liquor sachets despite a court’s ruling on the matter.
Chokazinga said the bureau will use its mandate within the law to stop the malpractice.
The Ministry of Information, Tourism and Culture says it is in the process of formulating the Malawi Tourism Authority.
The Minister responsible, Kondwani Nankhumwa said the body will ensure that money which holiday makers paid to tourism operators that sell Malawi abroad is brought to the country.
Nankhumwa was responding to a concern raised by MP for Lilongwe Central David Biznowatty as to what government was doing to ensure that the proceeds paid abroad by prospective tourists were brought to Malawi to ensure the country was benefitting from tourism.
