The opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) has confirmed the death of its former director of Economic Planning Victor Mbewe who once served as Governor of the Reserve Bank of Malawi.

The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has expressed shock the demise of its senior member, Chizalo Peter Mangulenje who until his death he was a Member of Parliament for Zomba Chisi Constituency and its deputy regional governor for south Ben Bonongwe.
